Cluster Prayer Meeting 7pm Tue 23rd

Hi All

Perhaps you have never made it to a cluster prayer meeting because they are held in the various churches across the heads of the valleys cluster group. Well this time they’re bringing the Prayer Meeting to us via Zoom in our living rooms, tomorrow evening at 7pmIts a good opportunity to know what’s going on and to pray for each others needs. Look forward to seeing you if you can make it.I have emailed the meeting code and link to your inbox. If you don’t have email please call Ron Harding

We’re finally going back to Church

Sorry that this is such a long document but these are complex issues so please bare with us

Dear all,

I hope you’re all keeping as well as can be expected in these difficult times.  The good news is that we are very much hoping to return to physical meetings in Bethel in the near future.  Please find below, dates and information about the plans to return to physical meetings.  Our first meeting will be the prayer meeting on Thursday 18th of March at 7:15pm.

General rules

We last met in the chapel back in September – we give thanks to Lord for keeping us during these long winter months.  We would also like to thank Ron and Ann for their tireless work in posting the services on social media and delivering Cd’s for those without internet access.  Many thanks to you both.  The rules for resuming meetings in the chapel will be very similar to those we adhered to back in September, albeit with some variation.

  • If you are feeling at all unwell, please do not attend.  People are still able to view the services on social media.
  • Facemasks/visors are compulsory for all who are of secondary school age and above –  except for those who have a valid medical reason not to wear them.
  • Your name and contact details will be checked at the door for the purposes of track and trace.
  • Hand sanitisers must be used on entering and leaving the building.
  • A distance of two meters must be kept between individual households at all times.  All must be seated within their own household, unless they are legally bubbling with another household – i.e a person living on their own bubbling with another household.
  • We enter the main hall through one of the side doors in the lobby, and we leave through another door.
  • Some windows will be kept open during the service to comply with ventilation guidance.
  • Unfortunately we’re not allowed to sing at the moment, but we will listen to hymns/choruses and follow the words on screen.
  • After the service, we must vacate the building as soon as possible in an orderly manner and not spend time socialising outside.

Number limitation and booking system.

All the above rules were in place when we met in September.  However, to comply with best practice and what other churches are doing, we have come to the conclusion that we need to add two things.  A. Numbers on the Sunday Services will be limited to 45 in each service.  B.  For Sunday Services, until further notice, every individual (anyone aged 11 years or older) must book their place.  Turning up at the door without booking a place, if there are already 45 booked to attend the service, would mean that person would not be allowed to stay for the service and would have to leave the area.

As Elders and Deacons we understand that this is not an ideal situation, but we do have to look at the big picture.  This booking system will not be for ever!  Hopefully by the end of July all adults will have had their first vaccine, and therefore these regulations may be eased, if the law allowed.  Also, as Christians we are called to be witnesses and to be model citizens in our society.  We don’t want a finger of blame being pointed at us should there be another spike in the community.

The person to contact to book a place is Carl.  You can text, phone or e-mail him, but this must be done by the Thursday before the Sunday service.  Carl’s mobile number is 07900 562140, and his e-mail is carlhutchings1@hotmail.co.uk   Please be kind to him if there is no space left!  We’re just as frustrated as you.  However, if you have tried to book and are not able to gain a place for a Sunday service, you will receive priority for the next available service.

Dates

Thursday 18 March – Prayer meeting in Bethel 7:15pm

Thursday 25 March – Prayer meeting in Bethel 7:15 pm

Sunday 28th of March 11:00 am Morning service in Bethel (Booking essential).  Evening service on social media platforms.

Thursday 1st of April – Prayer Meeting and Communion.

Good Friday 2nd of April  – Service in Bethel 6:00pm – (Booking essential by Wednesday 31st of March)

Easter Sunday 4th of April.  Morning service 11:00 am, and Evening Service 6pm both in Bethel, (Booking essential).

At the moment we will not be able to provide Sunday School.  Although children will soon be back in school, they are being kept in their distinct ‘bubbles’ and therefore it would be unwise for us to mix children from different bubbles together.

We will attempt to offer all services on either Zoom, or a recorded format on our social media platforms.

Thanks

In anticipation, may I thank you for your help and compliance with the above arrangements.  None of us as officers ‘want’ these regulations, however we do want to keep everybody as safe as possible and therefore we are grateful to you for your patience and understanding.   Yes, we would all love to be back together and the place ‘jam-packed’ but if the above regulations allow us to meet physically, surely, this is better than our present situation.  Please feel free to call me on 07853199562 if you have any questions.  Looking forward to seeing you!  On behalf of the Officers, Trystan.
